Moffitt thanks supporters

Republican Rep. Tim Moffitt posted this Nov. 10 message to his Facebook page thanking supporters for reelecting him to the N.C. House. Moffitt defeated Democratic challenger Jane Whilden to retain his seat in District 116, which includes much of western Buncombe County.

Words simply can’t express the appreciation I feel for the great outpouring of support showed to me this past Tuesday. It was a long and sometimes difficult race, but we made it — and there’s no way I could have done it without the support of each and every one of you.

To my boys Alex, Jesse, and Luke — you are my constant inspiration. Everything I do, I do for you guys. Through it all, when it’s all said and done, my greatest accomplishment in life has been being your dad.

Speaking of dads, I learned from the best: my own dad Bobby Moffitt — a man of the finest character — will always be my rock and my foundation. I’m so very proud of him. And to my sister Diane, I’m so grateful for the fact that our bond has only grown stronger through the years. Your love and support has meant so much to me.

Somebody once said that “a journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.” I’m lucky to be surrounded by some of the finest people I could ever know and I’m very honored by the confidence my friends here in Buncombe County have placed in me.

Please know that I will strive every day to be worthy of your friendship, your faith, and your trust.

Tim
