From a Montford Park Players press release:

Montford Park Players announces auditions for “Private Lives”

The Montford Park Players announces auditions for “Private Lives,” a comedy by Noel Coward.

Glamorous, rich and reckless, Elyot and Amanda have been divorced from each other for five years. Now both are honeymooning with their new spouses at a French seaside resort. When by chance they meet again across adjoining hotel balconies, their romantic feelings for each other are immediately rekindled. Without a care for scandal, new partners or memories of what drove them apart in the first place, they hurl themselves headlong into love and lust. “Private Lives” is a dazzling, witty masterpiece and considered to be one of the greatest comedies ever written!

Auditions will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, from 1-4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 15, from 3-6 p.m. in the Green Room at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay Street in Asheville.

Please bring headshot and resume if available.  Actors will be asked to read from the script.

Elyot Chase: Rich and handsome; must play 30-45; has a quick and cutting wit.
Sibyl Chase: Attractive, must play 20-30
Amanda Prynne: A fiery temper and a tendency toward impulsive behavior; 30-45
Victor Prynne: Handsome, if a bit bland; is very pleased to describe himself as “normal;” 20-35
Louise: A French maid; good comedienne; any age.

The production will be directed by Jeff Catanese and will be performed at Asheville’s Masonic Temple March 12-29.
