Excellence in Public Service Job Fair 3/23

Press release from Mountain Area Workforce Development 

Mountain Area Workforce Development will be holding the “Excellence in Public Service Job Fair” this Wed., March 23, 2022 from 1-6 p.m. at the WNC Agricultural Center’s Virginia Boone Building, 761 Boylston Highway, Fletcher, NC 28732. This will be the first regional public sector hiring event hosted by the Board.

The Virginia Boone Building is located across from the Asheville Regional Airport on NC280, Boylston Highway. The entrance to the job fair will be off NC280 (Boylston Highway) at Gate 5. The participating federal, state, and local government employers are featuring hundreds of job opportunities available paying $18 per hour and in most cases much more.

To participate employers must be public, federal, state and local government employers. There is no cost for employers and job seekers to participate.  Employers interested in participating should email Nathan Ramsey at nathan@landofsky.org to receive the registration link. Registration cut-off is March 22, 2022 at 12 p.m.

Participating employers include AB Tech, Apple Country Transit, City of Asheville Fire Department, Blue Ridge Community College, Buncombe County Government, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department, Buncombe County Schools, Henderson County Government, Transylvania County Government, City of Hendersonville Government, Macon County Government, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, NC Department of Public Safety, NC Department of Transportation, NC State Highway Patrol, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), US Army, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina University and more.
