New Intersection to open on Brevard Road

Press release from the North Carolina Department of Transportation:

A new intersection off Brevard Road is set to open Thursday morning creating safer access to a secondary road near the Asheville Outlets.

A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will open new access to Rocky Ridge Road and Wedgefield Drive where several hotels and businesses are located off Interstate 26 in Buncombe County.

Currently operating as flashing yellow lights, the new signalized intersection to the south of Petco will provide new access to the businesses. The off-ramps from I-26 eastbound will be switched to a three-way intersection as part of this traffic shift.

This shift will provide longer green light times for vehicles exiting I-26 to Brevard Road and those on Brevard Road traveling through the offramp intersection.
