New radio show “Busker Broadcast” premiers tonight

New radio show “Busker Broadcast” premiering April 14 on WPVM 103.7

In conjunction with the Friends of WPVM, the Asheville Buskers Collective is introducing the new radio show, “Busker Broadcast.” Tune into the first broadcast Tuesday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. on WPVM 103.7 FM or stream live by clicking here.

Based out of downtown Asheville, “Busker Broadcast” will focus on music, news and stories pertaining to street performing. The show will feature a variety of interviews, album recordings and live performances aired from both on the street and in the studio.

The mission of the Asheville Buskers Collective is to advocate for public performances in downtown Asheville. The ABC aims to voice the artistic desires of the community while also strengthening the relationships between street performers, local businesses and city officials. The ABC is currently working with the city of Asheville on upcoming changes in street performing laws.

The mission of WPVM is to build support for Asheville artists, raise awareness for social issues and provide an outlet to voice community values. WPVM strives to be a beacon of Asheville’s creative and cultural voice for the community and to broadcast to the world, via WPVMfm.org, all that is unique about our artistic and cultural heritage.
