New study ranks Asheville second best city for beer drinkers

Press release from SmartAsset:

The New Year is swiftly approaching, but there’s another reason to raise a glass! In a new study, SmartAsset uncovered the best U.S. cities for beer drinkers and Asheville ranks in the number two spot.

You almost can’t go anywhere in Asheville without running into a brewery. This city of 92,000 has 26 breweries, giving it the highest density of breweries per resident in our study. Asheville also offers a substantial craft beer scene with nice variety: It ranks 21st-highest for bars per 10,000 residents. Unfortunately, drinking here will do no favors for your savings account, as a pint of beer in Asheville costs more than the average price across all the cities we analyzed.

Details on the study, including full methodology and rankings, can be found here: http://smartasset.com/checking-account/best-cities-for-beer-drinkers-2018.

This is written as if its something to be proud of.
    Gross.
I wonder when the study of how Asheville’s “Beer City” branding negatively affects our community’s overall health will come out?

This is a very good morning to all Asheville residence. We have to be very savvy not to be raped like tourists are with “asheville” prices! Only spend money on establishments who offer significant discounts throughout the week or maybe through certain seasons… i’m very happy to never ever pay regular price here for anything
