New name, same mission for Healthy Built Homes – now Green Built

From the Green Building Council:

The WNC Green Building Council is proud to announce that we are now the administrators of Green Built North Carolina, replacing the HealthyBuilt Homes program statewide. We have been the leading provider and have the majority of the homes certified statewide. Due to staff and funding changes at the state level, WNCGBC is now taking over HealthyBuilt and continuing with a new name and some improvements to the Checklist.

It will be more streamlined with faster certification and better responsiveness for the builders and homeowners. Look for alternative compliance for the fireplace and energy star prerequisites.

From the website:

NC HealthyBuilt Homes is a voluntary, statewide green building program administered by the North Carolina Solar Center, and supported by the State Energy Office, Home Builder Associations, and other professional building organizations.

The WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC) and the Asheville Home Builder Association (AHBA) are pleased to offer the WNC HealthyBuilt Homes Program to builders in the Greater Asheville Area and the following NC counties: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey. If you are not building in one of these counties visit the Community Partner Map to determine who to contact.
