PRESS RELEASE from Nona Mia Italian Kitchen

West Asheville –  May 24, 2014 – Nona Mia Italian Kitchen has teamed up with Highland Brewing to support the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. For one week, beginning Tuesday, May 27, Nona Mia will have exclusive access to Highland Brewing Co.’s latest release, Elevation Ale.

This summer brown ale has fruitiness from the wildflower honey added plus notes of light toffee overtones and is balanced with a malty flavor and a subtle spruce-tip finish. (6.0% ABV)

This small batch ale was crafted by Highland Brewing Company in honor of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy’s 40th anniversary. Nona Mia will be donating $1 for each pint sold to SAHC to help protect our region’s treasured mountains, streams and farms!

Nona Mia, meaning “my grandmother,” takes its inspiration from the Italian-American cuisine developed by generations of immigrants, and practiced in the kitchens around and in which Peter grew up.

The Italian-American tradition in food weds the centuries-old genius of Old-World cuisine with New-World ingredients and modern panache, creating what chef Peter Affatato terms “Italian-American soul food.” Unique, Sicilian-style pizza and artisan sandwiches share pride of place with classics like Fettucini Alfredo, Lasagne, Chicken Piccata, and Nona’s Penne with Sunday Gravy.

Nona Mia Italian Kitchen is open for lunch Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and dinner Tuesday-Saturday 4:30 p.m. until…
