Returning to the tour this year is well known artist, Janet Green Jacobson. She will be in her home studio, #7 on the tour. Working primarily with oil and acrylic, her art conveys a love of the land developed from living in the mountains of North Carolina all her life. She continues to find limitless inspiration from nature and its ever changing pallet. A professional artist for over forty years, Janet’s work has evolved from detailed realism to a more contemporary, stylized art form – a creative process of imaginative concept rather than analytical observation. She creates a mood by the qualities of light and its play on objects, and finding the abstract patterns that the light creates. Through the use of rich bold colors that are softly blended and minimal use of detail, her landscapes evoke a feeling of mystery and quiet.

Janet studied at the University of South Carolina, earning a B.A. and a M.F.A. She has participated in numerous local and regional shows, and has exhibited her work in galleries in Santa Fe, Los Angeles, Aspen, Scottsdale and locally in Hendersonville, Asheville, and Brevard. She currently sells exclusively from her studio.
