Orison Books reading at Archetype Brewing

Press release from Orison Books:

Join Asheville’s own Orison Books for a reading by poet John Fry and fiction writer Jeremy Griffin at Archetype Brewing’s Broadway location on September 21.

John Fry’s debut poetry collection, With the Dogstar as My Witness, was published by Orison Books in 2018. Jeremy Griffin’s story collection, Oceanography, was selected by Lan Samantha Chang as the winner of The 2018 Orison Fiction Prize.

“John Fry is a poet committed to restoring, perhaps even restorying, what we are allowed to imagine, what we are permitted to believe—about others, yes, and also about ourselves. […] [T]his collection is akin to a queer anointing for any reader who has ever felt lost, cast out, unwelcome.”
—Julie Marie Wade, Lambda Literary

“[Jeremy Griffin’s] beautiful collection is distinguished by unvarnished honesty, depth of compassion, and an uncanny awareness of that liminal region between our knowledge of what is irretrievable and our hope for deliverance.”
—Lan Samantha Chang
