Our VOICE launches a bilingual referral and informational textline

Press release from Our VOICE:

Our VOICE is thrilled to announce the launch of our referral and informational textline, offered in English and Spanish, for all people who are interested in services or support after experiencing sexual trauma.

For information, for help, for support, all you have to do is text VOICE or VOZ to 85511
and a trained staff member will respond during business hours with individualized, accurate, and non-judgmental answers to any questions.

The text line aims to increase outreach to vulnerable populations, connect more Buncombe County residents with services, and provide information regarding sexual violence to high-risk populations.

To provide this service, Our VOICE is partnering with PrevetionPays Text, a two-way texting platform used by Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault agencies across the country. This textline will allow our community to text questions to receive information regarding sexual violence, Our VOICE services, and referral services in Buncombe County and the surrounding area.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this additional service to our clients,” says Angelica Wind, Executive Director of Our VOICE. “We hope to reduce as many barriers and make it as easy as possible for ALL residents of Buncombe County to get the support they need.”
