Please be advised, over the last several days there has been a continued spike in probable overdoses in Buncombe County. We strongly encourage agencies to distribute Naloxone, share harm reduction information about this concerning spike, and encourage the use of fentanyl test strips on all substances.
Our focus is community safety. Community Paramedics are responding to this emerging situation on the ground and working collaboratively with partners in Buncombe County to prevent additional overdoses by providing services and through public notifications such as this. Local harm reduction resources are available. These organizations not only offer life-saving resources, they also help in spreading the word about concerning trends while providing critical support for people who are actively using and for those who are in recovery or want to start their recovery process.
