Press release from Pan Harmonia:

Pan Harmonia announces 2018 Music and Poetry Fusion Competition for NC Women Writers

Submissions accepted: September 15 – November 15, 2018
Postmark deadline: November 15, 2018

In celebration of its 20th season (2019-2020), Pan Harmonia, Asheville chamber music collective, has commissioned composer Dosia McKay to create an innovative work for voice, flute, bassoon and guitar for the chamber music repertoire and for the citizens of North Carolina. This endeavor is funded by a North Carolina Arts Council Program Support grant and private donors.

The multi-part commissioned piece, to be composed and performed by women artists, will set to music words of women writers from across the state on themes of timely significance, specifically focusing on inclusivity and exclusivity regarding cultural, economic, and gender issues.

Poetry submission will be accepted September 15 – November 15, 2018 with a final postmark deadline of November 15, 2018. Winners will be notified in December 2018.
