Park Ridge Health invites public to free presentation about new sleep apnea treatment

Press release

From Park Ridge Health:

Hendersonville, N.C. (April 30, 2013) – According to the National Sleep Foundation, more than 18 million Americans live with sleep apnea, a disorder that causes pauses in breathing or shallow breaths during sleep. The condition, which often goes undiagnosed, is a leading cause of excessive daytime sleepiness in the United States. The community is invited to learn more about sleep apnea and a promising new treatment option at the free presentation, “Sleep Solutions: Alternatives for Mild to Moderate Sleep Apnea,” which will take place Monday, May 20, at noon in the Duke Room at Park Ridge Health. Attendees are invited to come at 11:30 a.m. to enjoy a complimentary lunch from the Café at Park Ridge Health.

At the free presentation, Michael Neuenschwander, M.D., of Park Ridge Ear, Nose and Throat will explain the benefits of the “SomnoGuard” oral appliance for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. Oral Appliance Therapy has gained widespread recognition and coverage by many insurers as an effective, less obtrusive option for potential first-line treatment. A technician from the Park Ridge Sleep Center will also be available at the event to address questions about sleep studies.
Space is limited at this event, so please RSVP at 855-PRH-LIFE.
