Pastel painting workshop for all levels

Press release from Catch the Spirit of Appalachia:

Ready for something creative? Try your hand at pastel painting during the upcoming “Creating Art at the Homestead” art workshop on June 22, Saturday 2-5pm. Here you can enjoy the beauty of the mountain countryside while ‘opening doors to creativity,’ painting and taking home your own finished artwork!

Facilitated by artist Doreyl Ammons Cain, you will learn the basics of composition, perspective, color theory and painting spontaneously at this outside painting art workshop. The location is in the Tuckasegee Valley on a farm homestead with a river view, mountains all around, a waterfall and structures from the early days of settling the mountains. Directions to the location will be supplied to those who reserve their workshop space.

Beginners, those who would like to try their hand at painting with pastels and experienced artists are welcome! All materials are furnished, along with a healthy snack. Please contact Doreyl Ammons Cain for reservations at 828-293-2239 or message on Facebook.
