Press release from UNC Asheville:

The Asheville Fire Department will hold a training burn at UNC Asheville on Dec. 15, 2020, weather permitting. This prescribed burn will take place between 8 a.m. in 3 p.m. in the meadow adjacent to Mullen Park and near the Glenn’s Creek Greenway. Fire or smoke visible during that time does not need to be reported, as the Asheville Fire Department is managing the burn. If you have a smoke sensitivity, please make plans to avoid the area during this time.

The project will offer ecological benefits and academic opportunities while providing a training opportunity for the Asheville Fire Department.
