Reps. McHenry and Meadows: Let Todd Work.
PYC-NC calls on NC Congressmen to stop their endless Obamacare sabotage

WASHINGTON, DC—Protect Your Care NC today called on North Carolina Congressmen Patrick McHenry and Mark Meadows to put a stop to their endless crusade against affordable health care. If voting to repeal Obamacare dozens of times and shutting down the government wasn’t enough, now they are are trying to keep busy public servants from fixing the complex HealthCare.gov website.
On Nov. 8, Todd Park was subpoenaed by Congressman Darrell Issa (R-California) to appear before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform today, instead of waiting until the website fixes were finished. Todd Park had asked to testify in December so he could continue his work. But Instead of continuing to work on fixing HealthCare.gov, Park has been forced to spend hours preparing and answering questions from Congressmen who don’t really care about fixing the website. Issa, McHenry, and Meadows are really rooting for a failed website and are all about sabotaging the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Reps. McHenry and Meadows sit on the Oversight Committee. Protect Your Care NC calls on them to stop participating in this charade, and to work with members of both parties and the Obama administration to make sure the Affordable Care Act works.

Protect Your Care NC also calls on all North Carolinians who care about affordable health care and want to see the new health care law succeed to join the “Let Todd Work” campaign at lettoddwork.org. Join on Facebook, Twitter or use the hashtag #lettoddwork.

“Reps. Darrell Issa, Patrick McHenry and Mark Meadows have once again shown their true stripes and it’s not pretty. Instead of letting Todd Park do his job working to improve healthcare.gov and testify at a later date, House Republicans have decided their political platform is more important than the health of Americans. As we have seen in hearing after hearing this month, Republican oversight has become a monkey court. The GOP has no interest in ensuring millions have access to affordable health care—only grandstanding and posturing to score political points. It’s time to get down to business and let Todd Park get back to his work,” said Candice Davies of Protect Your Care NC.
