The Asheville Glass Center and MetroWines have teamed up to host a special wine tasting and glass blowing event on Saturday, Nov. 16. The evening benefits OpenDoors of Asheville; a nonprofit connecting local children living in poverty with an active, individualized network of support.

The Asheville Glass Center, along with local MetroWines, announces a special wine tasting and glass blowing event on Saturday, November 16th from 5-7 pm. With a minimum donation, attendees each receive a beautiful stemless wine glass, which has been crafted exclusively for the event. Proceeds from the evening will benefit OpenDoors of Asheville; a nonprofit connecting local children living in poverty with an active, individualized network of support.A selection of fine wines will be served at the “Raise A Glass” event and glass artists will conduct special glass blowing demonstrations. Asheville Glass Center artists and wine experts from MetroWines will share their knowledge on how the color, size and shape of a glass can influence the aroma and taste of any beverage. The works of popular local artisans Kathryn Adams, Hayden Wilson and Nick Moen will be featured. Door prizes include wine, exclusive wine goblets, and a pair of tickets to OpenDoors’ 2014 Art Affair.
“At Asheville Glass Center, we pour our hearts into making the best vessels possible and MetroWines scours the globe to bring the finest wines to town. We are excited to bring our two passions together. Teaming up to benefit an important nonprofit, which goes out of its way to celebrate local artisans, makes it that much sweeter!” says Asheville Glass Center co-owner Robert Gardner.
The price of admission is a $45 minimum donation and includes the limited edition stemless wine glass. Cash or credit will be accepted at the door.
