Rallies to be held in support of raising minimum wage

Western North Carolina is showing its support for raising the minimum wage. At parades, picnics and congregational events across the mountains, Just Economics, Raising WagesNC, and their allies are participating in a week of action around Labor Day to highlight the growing movement to raise wages in the state.

Events include:

  • Faces of Poverty- Film Screening and Interfaith Workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Beth Ha-Tephila Congregation, 43 North Liberty St., Asheville
  • Love Letters to Workers Rally and Parade on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dairy Queen, 26 Tunnel Road, Asheville
