Rally to celebrate recovery, healthy communities will be Saturday in Marion

WHAT:
First-ever Blue Ridge Recovery Rally on Saturday in Marion. The free event includes food and drinks, music, artists, a recovery walk, children’s activities, speakers, recovery stories, Recovery Champion awards, booths and giveaways from local organizations.

This family-friendly event will include a recovery walk, children’s activities and speakers who will publicly share their own stories of addiction, hopelessness and ultimate recovery.

WHEN:
From 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.

WHERE:
Lawn in front of McDowell County Courthouse, 21 S. Main St., Marion, NC 28752

WHO:
Event sponsors include Communities Rallying for Recovery, Vaya Health, the McDowell County Health Coalition, the Marion Police Department, the McDowell County’s Sheriff’s Office, A Caring Alternative, Freedom Life Ministries, Celebrate Recovery and additional partners. The event is open to everyone, including individuals who are in recovery, interested in recovery, know someone in recovery or simply want to build healthier communities.

WHY:
The rally celebrates recovery and sends the message that people can and do recover from addiction, mental health concerns and other life challenges.
