Red Cross in need of immediate shelter volunteers

GREENVILLE, SC, February 11, 2014 – American Red Cross of the Western Carolinas is on heightened alert due to potential power outages and stranded travelers which could result from significant ice and snow accumulations over the next 48 hours.
The Red Cross has an immediate need for volunteers to assist in the staging of supplies and equipment, shelter set-up and other tasks related to shelter operations in upstate South Carolina.
Residents who wish to volunteer are urged to contact the Red Cross at (864) 271-8222 or by email at: WCRvolunteer@RedCross.org.
