Locally owned and operated Grove Stone & Sand Company is proud to partner with presenting sponsor Carolina Cat to host the 7th annual Rock the Quarry 5K Trail Challenge and Kids Fun Run in the heart of the Swannanoa Valley. Rock the Quarry is a foot race with a mission to bring our community together to celebrate good health in our beautiful surroundings while supporting our neighbors. All proceeds from the event benefit Grove Stone’s neighbor, the Black Mountain Home for Children, and long-time partner, the Colburn Earth Science Museum.

COURSE – Boasting some of the best views in all of Western North Carolina, the course combines scenic views, private trails, multiple stream-crossings, and a 1⁄2 mile span through Grove Stone’s active quarry.

PRIZES & RACE SHIRT – Cash prize offering for top male, female, and master’s division (50 and over) finishers – in addition to some custom made “Granite Trophies” for top finishers for the 5K age/gender categories. Technical t-shirts for all participants guaranteed before September 8th. Feedback from last year’s race is that the RTQ shirt will be your new favorite running shirt!

FUN RUN – This year, Rock the Quarry is proud to present our first ever Kids Fun Run (ages 10 and under). The Kids Fun Run ($5 per participant) is 1/4 of a mile – and each participant will receive a customized race day medal.

REGISTRATION – Registration available online through Active.com until September 18th. You can also register at Packet Pickup & Race-day registration until 9am (cash or check only).
