Secret Agent 23 Skidoo receives a Grammy nomination for “The Perfect Quirk”

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo received a GRAMMY nomination for his album of quirky Hip Hop, THE PERFECT QUIRK …in the Best Children’s Album category. This is the first time a positive, family style Hip Hop album has gotten this degree of recognition, brushing away any sort of bad rap with intelligent, uplifting lyrics and funky, soulful beats.

The multi racial, multi gender, multi generational band includes singers and a DJ, with most of the rap duties held down by 23 Skidoo himself and his daughter, MC Fireworks, who’s been touring nationally with the band since she was 6.

23 Skidoo traveled the country for a decade as a lyricist/producer in various Hip Hop and Funk acts, even playing shows with such luminaries as MOS DEF, RUN DMC and the P FUNK All Stars. When his daughter turned 5, they made their first album and it rocketed to #1 on SiriusXM radio. Since then, they’ve had eight #1 hits and have played Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and the Smithsonian.

THE PERFECT QUIRK is Skidoo’s 4th album, and its live funk instrumentation and message of embracing diversity and lifting up the underdog have earned it a nomination in the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
