Senators Tillis and Coons issue statement for World Press Freedom Day

Press release from Sen. Thom Tillis:

Today, Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Chris Coons (D-DE), the co-chairs of the Senate Human Rights Caucus, released the following statement marking World Press Freedom Day. 

“As co-chairs of the Senate Human Rights Caucus, we join today’s celebration of World Press Freedom Day, an opportunity to recognize the important role of a free press in keeping citizens informed, holding leaders accountable, and protecting democracy,” said Senators Tillis and Coons“We continue to see gruesome attacks and threats against journalists around the world, and today, we honor and stand with journalists everywhere who continue to pursue truth and transparency.”
