Short Street Cakes Celebrates Mothers Day with a Childrens’ Mothers Day Poem Contest

Asheville, NC, April 28, 2015: From Wednesday, April 29th through Friday, May 8, Short Street Cakes will host their first annual Mother’s Day Poem Contest! Open to all kids 18 and under in Asheville, the Mother’s Day Poetry contest will offer a free cupcake to every child who submits a Mothers Day poem in person, at the Cake Shop at 225 Haywood Road in West Asheville. Three winners will be chosen from the contestants to win a free 9” Mothers Day Special Cake with their poem inscribed on top!  Mothers Day Special Cakes are heart-shaped and available in the following flavors: Salted Caramel, Strawberry Short Street, Triple Chocolate Ganache, Lavender White, or GF and Vegan Carrot Spice. Mothers Day Special Cakes are available in the following sizes: $13 for a Sweetheart (4” cake), $15 for a 7”, and $24 for a 9”. The Cake Shop’s regular menu will also be available, at regular prices, with the regular minimum two days’ notice. Customers may also add a handmade paper flower to their order for $3.
Short Street Cakes will also be offering house-made, handmade 9” pies for Mothers Day too! (by advance order only.) Orders can be placed by phone or in person at the Cake Shop, with two days’ advance notice. Pie Flavors include: Blueberry Poppy Seed, Cherry Orange, Cranberry Orange, Caramel Apple, Ginger Pear, Bourbon Peach, Strawberry Rhubarb, Blackberry Cardamom, Sweet Potato Spice, Pumpkin Custard, Classic Pecan, Lemon Meringue, French Chocolate Silk, Key Lime, Banana Cream, and Coconut Cream. All 9” pies are $24. Gluten-free crust can be substituted upon request for an additional $2.
