Team of mayoral, City Council candidates to hold press conference on Feb. 28

Press release from Committee to Elect Your Team Asheville, 2024:

Please join Your Team Asheville candidates for a good old-fashioned press conference on Monday, February 28th at noon at the NC Board of Elections located at 59 Woodfin Place.

At that time, City of Asheville Mayoral Candidate, Dr. Clifford Feingold, along with three City Council Candidates Alex Cobb, Doug Brown and Andy Ledford, will formally announce their run as a TEAM of candidates filing to claim open councils seats within the city of Asheville in the primary election scheduled for May 17th.

Dr. Cliff Feingold, a north Asheville resident, has provided dental care to patients in Asheville since 1977. Alex Cobb lives in downtown Asheville and is a realtor with eXp Realty.  Andy Ledford is a Navy Veteran who resides in South Asheville and works as an engineer with a local manufacturer. Doug Brown is a retired entrepreneur, active in many community interests.

Candidates came together late in 2021 to explore the possibility of what it would take to make significant changes needed in Asheville. They are extremely concerned with issues residents face concerning safety and crime, refunding and restoration of the Asheville Police department, rampant homelessness, heavy traffic congestion and the city’s severely unbalanced budget. They are also concerned with the lack of transparency relating not only to the absence of communication between City council and citizens as well as with the media, but also transparency as it relates to the spending of large allotments of Covid Relief, Opiod Crisis and HUD grant funding the City and County have received and will execute. Your Team Asheville candidates feel they not only understand the critical issues Asheville faces, but also plan to provide solutions that will bring balance back to Asheville government.
