The Funky Formal
Benefiting Francine Delany New School for Children
Friday February 26, 2016 6pm until Midnight
Isis Restaurant and Music Hall
743 Haywood Rd. Asheville NC

On Friday, February 26th, Isis Restaurant and Music Hall will host the second annual Funky Formal benefiting Francine Delany New School for Children (FDNSC).

This adults-only event will feature incredible live music by The Teacher Band, comprised of teachers from FDNSC, and Motown music by Jim Arrendell and the Cheap Suits. The Funky Formal will include a raffle and a silent auction featuring many local goods and services. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Attendees are encouraged to “funk up” their attire and have a great time. This will be a no-detention zone, so you can even chew gum if you’d like.

FDNSC is a tuition-free public school and a 501 C-3 organization that serves 165 students. The school focuses on promoting social justice and the inherent dignity of each student through small class size, hands-on learning, and individualized instruction of the standard North Carolina curriculum. Students are challenged to think critically, to reach ambitious academic goals with confidence, and to value the principles of social justice. Teachers tailor their work with individual students to help them become independent, responsible, and confident learners. FDNSC’s program of study encourages and values creativity and curiosity.

The second annual Funky Formal is generously sponsored by Navitat Zipline Canopy Adventures, Asheville Savings Bank, NC Stage Company, and The Matt and Molly Team.
