TheatreUNCA stages ‘This Girl Laughs. This Girl Cries. This Girl Does Nothing’ for young audiences, April 19-22

TheatreUNCA will stage “This Girl Laughs. This Girl Cries. This Girl Does Nothing,” a play for young audiences by Finegan Kruckemeyer, with five performances opening April 19 in UNC Asheville’s Carol Belk Theater. Evening performances will take place Thursday-Saturday April 19-21 with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Two matinees will be offered at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22.

“This Girl Laughs. This Girl Cries. This Girl Does Nothing.,” is a modern-day fairytale that tells the story of three young sisters who are left in the forest by their woodcutter father and forced to find their own way in the world. Years later the three sisters meet again, this time as young women, who have circumnavigated the globe, made homes, crossed oceans and achieved greatness. The UNC Asheville performances will include whimsical puppetry by master puppeteer Hobey Ford.

The all-student cast includes Landry Bohn, Madelyn Depodesta, Lea Gilbert, Leah Griffin, Jarrett Lefler, and Naya Spencer.
