Third annual Asheville Outdoor Show returns, Sept. 17

Asheville, NC —Diamond Brand Outdoors and Frugal Backpacker today announced vendors, entertainment, and more details for the Asheville Outdoor Show. In its third year, the free public expo brings top innovators from the most popular outdoor companies to recreation enthusiasts in the playground of the mountains of North Carolina. The Asheville Outdoor Show will take place on Sunday, September 17, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Salvage Station in the city’s River Arts District (468 Riverside Drive in Asheville).

Brands that have been confirmed to attend include Adventure Medical Kits, Astral, Bertucci, Big Agnes, Bison Designs, Chaco, Columbia Sportswear, Costa, Crazy Creek, Deuter, Eagles Nest Outfitters, Fifth Element Camping, Fox + Fir Design, Freefly, Good To-Go, Grand Trunk, Gregory, Howler Bros., KEEN, Kelty, La Sportiva, Landmark Project, LEKI, Marmot, Mount Inspiration, Mountain Hardwear, MSR, Mystery Ranch, NEMO Equipment, Oboz, Osprey, Outdoor Research, Platypus, prAna, Salomon, Sea to Summit, Sherpa, Smartwool, TerraChair, Therm-a-Rest, Thule, Thule, Tilley Endurables, Toad & Co., Vasque, Western Mountaineering, Wigwam, and Wind Pouch.

“Diamond Brand Outdoors opened the area’s first outdoor lifestyle shop in 1964,” said Chris Bubenik, Marketing Manager for Diamond Brand Outdoors and Frugal Backpacker. “We love the outdoors and making sure our customers have what they need for the best experience. That’s why we’ve made the Asheville Outdoor Show open to brands by invitation only. We want to showcase innovators known for their quality, variety, and uniqueness. This year, we welcome a mix of well-known national companies, local gear makers who play on the national stage, and disruptor brands turning the industry on its head.”

The community will have an excellent chance to find out about good things happening and volunteer opportunities thanks to Asheville Greenworks, Carolina Mountain Club, Camp Cedar Cliff, Friends of the Smokies, Friends of the WNC Nature Center, MountainTrue, Muddy Sneakers, River Link, and The North Carolina Arboretum.

Those attending the festival will enjoy last year’s perks including coupons, discounts, giveaways, raffles, and the chance to chat with industry leaders and demo the newest gear while enjoying music from the Blue Dragons. The move to Salvage Station also allows for boat demos on the French Broad River. The Family Adventure Zone presented by KEEN Footwear will feature face painting, sidewalk chalk, and a three-story climbing wall from Camp Cedar Cliff. Flying Pig FREE Gear Repair will be on site to repair sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, and other gear that needs a stitch or two.
