Times-News: Henderson County DSS director to retire

From the Times-News

Story by Nathaniel Axtell:

After a quarter century as Henderson County’s DSS director and 33 years of public service, Smith is retiring July 31.

“I’ve been in public service most of my life,” Smith said. “And I kind of got to the point where, you know, I’ve finished writing this book. I can’t be writing this final chapter on and on and on. At some point, I’ve got to stop and start a new book. I really see it as a positive.”
