Town of Mills River accepting applications for Board vacancy

Press release from Daniel Cobb, Mills River Town Manager:

During a special meeting Thursday, March 19, 2020 Mills River Town Council approved a process to appoint a resident to a recently vacated seat on the Board.

Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020 the Town will accept applications from interested individuals who are both a Mills River resident and live in Town Council District 2. If you are unsure in which district you are located please call Town Hall at (828) 890-2901 or email info@millsriver.org. Applications are encouraged, and not required, to be considered for appointment.

The Town asks that applications be submitted by the end of April. During its regular May 14, 2020 meeting Town Council will interview candidates. It is expected a candidate will be appointed during Council’s regular meeting May 28, 2020.

Applications are available on the Town’s website (www.millsriver.org) or may be emailed. The Town requests, during this time of uncertainty with COVID-19, that all applications be submitted via email to daniel.cobb@millsriver.org.

All interviews and Town Council meetings are open to the public.
