Town of Mills River seeks public input on development plans

Press release from Town of Mills River:

The Town of Mills River needs your help preparing for the future. Two important plans are under development and your input is crucial.

In September and early October the Town hosted a series of public workshops for the Making Mills River Comprehensive Plan. There was great attendance and wonderful feedback provided. If you were not able to attend please visit www.makingmillsriver.com to complete the questionnaire and provide your input.

Today the Town takes a major step in the development of its first Parks and Recreation Masterplan by launching a survey. The planning process started earlier this year and is now entering the phase of public input. We need your help prioritizing what facilities, programs, or new parks you would like to see. This survey is also available online at www.makingmillsriver.com.

On October 27, 2020 at 6:00 PM the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee is hosting a public workshop to hear from participants in real time. This is a great opportunity to learn about the planning process and hear directly from those involved. Please register for this event by visiting www.makingmillsriver.com.
Paper copies of both of these surveys are available at 124, Town Center Drive, Mills River. If you would like a copy mailed to you please call us at (828) 890-2901 and specify which survey you would like.

Additional information about the project can be found on the website above. Please make sure your voice is heard and you play a part in developing Mills River for the next generation. Questions or comments regarding the parks plan can be directed to Nicole Sweat at nicole.sweat@millsriver.org or for the Making Mills River plan to Alan Steinbeck at planning@millsriver.org. You may also call (828) 890-2901.
