Transylvania County Girl Scouts team up with Brevard College students to do volunteer outreach

From Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont

Brevard, N.C. – Transylvania County Girl Scouts will team up with Brevard College freshmen to conduct volunteer outreach and maintenance to Transylvania County Girl Scouts’ “Little House” on Monday, August 19, 2013. The day, “Move A Mountain Day,” is well-known across the county and allows incoming freshmen to learn about and explore local organizations and issues in Transylvania County.

Local Girl Scout volunteers will host about 15 student volunteers from Brevard College, as well as several of its own volunteers from the region. Volunteers will be able to help do light maintenance on and around the Little House asthe organization gears up for another Girl Scout year full of programs, enrichment opportunities and cookie sales! The workday at the Little House is in honor of Ms. Wanda Moser, a neighbor and friend to the local Girl Scouts and to the Little House.
