Transylvania Regional Hospital welcomes interim CFO

From the press release:

BREVARD, N.C., Feb. 10, 2012 – Transylvania Regional Hospital is pleased to welcome Jeff Rush as interim Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance for the Brevard hospital and all of its affiliate organizations.

Rush will oversee all financial operations for the Brevard hospital and its affiliates including financial planning, monitoring cash flows and financial reporting. His first day at Transylvania Regional Hospital was Jan. 16.

Rush is a seasoned healthcare CFO with more than 30 years of healthcare finance experience involving health systems, hospitals and long-term care facilities across the Southeast and the nation. Most recently, Rush served as an interim hospital CFO for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and LifePoint Hospitals Inc.

“Jeff brings a lifetime’s worth of experience and knowledge in healthcare financial management to our local hospital and affiliated medical practices,” said Bob Bednarek, president and CEO of Transylvania Regional Hospital. “We are fortunate to have Jeff on our team as we navigate challenging financial times in the healthcare industry and our country. Jeff’s expertise will help TRH sustain its financial goals so that we can continue to provide high-quality, local healthcare services to residents in this community when they need us.”

In addition to his healthcare experience, Rush has been an asset to communities he has worked in with community involvement in Civitan International, United Way, Kiwanis, March of Dimes and youth baseball.

“I am pleased to join the hospital’s leadership team and am very impressed with the strategic initiatives in place that will enable Transylvania Health System to continue its mission of serving the needs of Transylvania County residents with state-of-the-art healthcare services,” Rush said. “I am equally impressed with the level of leadership and support that Mission Health System is contributing here in Brevard toward the future success of this outstanding local organization.”

Rush is a native of upstate South Carolina and currently lives in Duncan, S.C., near Spartanburg. He and his wife, Cindy, have two grown children.
