United Way of Henderson County announces 2019-20 funding timeline

Press release from the United Way of Henderson County:

United Way of Henderson County (UWHC) will be accepting applications for funding for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 fiscal years. This competitive grant process is focused on achieving UWHC’s long-term goals in the areas of Education, Income, and Health. Programs providing Basic Needs and Crisis Services will also be considered for funding. Applications will be accepted every other year, with grant awards covering a two year period. Applications will not be accepted in 2019-20.

Programs applying to partner with United Way on work in Education, Income or Health must be able to show results that align with UWHC’s goals as detailed in HC2025, UWHC’s plan for improving our community over the next decade. These goals address the issues of Kindergarten Readiness; School Success; Financial Stability; Affordable Housing; Reducing Obesity; and Healthy Youth Behaviors. Details on the goals and strategies UWHC has adopted to achieve these goals can be found at www.liveunitedhc.org under “Our Work.”

All prospective applicants must meet Eligibility Requirements in order to apply for funding. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or public, tax-exempt health and human service organization with at least a two-year history of providing health and human service programs to the residents of Henderson County and have program results that clearly align with UWHC goals in the areas of Education, Income, Health, or Basic Needs/Crisis Services. Agencies may combine resources and apply together in a new collaborative program addressing one or more of the UWHC 2025 Target Issues. All application materials will be completed through our online portal.
