Waitr food delivery app launches Oct. 25 in Asheville

Press release from Waitr:

The popular food delivery app Waitr has come to Asheville – marking the debut of the fast-growing restaurant on-demand platform in North Carolina. The delivery service begins with week with the official launch set for Thursday, October 25. The Waitr app lets you order from your favorite Asheville restaurant … then sends a Waitr driver to deliver it right to your door a flat fee of $5.

Waitr’s success in nearby Greenville and throughout the South prompted the expansion to Asheville. Waitr’s appeal goes directly to those who don’t want to – or cannot – leave their home or office for their favorite restaurant meal. This is the 10th state Waitr has entered; the app has already proven to be wildly popular throughout South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida and Texas.

Waitr expects to hire 100 people in the area. Waitr will kick off its debut in Asheville with special free delivery – anytime you use the app through November 4, you can get your food delivered free by using the promo code “ASHEVILLE” at checkout.

Nearly 50 Asheville restaurant have already signed up with Waitr, including Pack’s Tavern, Del Vecchios, AUX Bar, Farm Burger, Atlanta Bread, Takosushi, Neo Burrito, Urban Burrito, and Blue Dream Curry House.

“We’re very proud Asheville is now part of our Waitr family of communities,” said Whitney Savoie, Market Development Director for Waitr. “As you can see by the number of restaurants joining us for day one, it’s going to be a great relationship for all.”

Savoie adds customers rave about how convenient Waitr is to use, as well as its more favorable pricing – specifically the $5 delivery flat fee. Other unique, practical features include live monitoring of deliveries and full-color photography of every menu item.

Waitr will be hosting a launch party for its Asheville debut at Pack’s Tavern on Thursday, October 25 at 5:00pm. Pack’s Tavern is located at 20 South Spruce Street in Asheville. Waitr is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the city’s launch and meet the local team. Attendees at the free party can expect tasty appetizers, cold drinks and cool “swag” items to take home with them.

Waitr is exceptionally simple to use. After an account is created, you choose a restaurant, browse the fully-customizable menu, select your items and tap to submit the order. All payments happen seamlessly and securely with a credit card. Ordering is also available via the Web at waitrapp.com.
