Will you be announcing the candidates soon and also (ideally) letting Woodfin residents know what they need to do to register and by what date?
Hi Robert, thanks much for reading. We are planning to write a story about the Woodfin municipal election closer to November, which will include more about the candidates and voter registration information.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve been told that there is a primary in Woodfin on October 5th. Because the Town of Woodfin recently changed ordinances and appointed new boards without following proper procedures, we hope that citizens will have information and sufficient time to educate themselves ahead of October 5th. Concerned citizens should consider attending Town Commissioners’ Meetings on Tuesday, August 17th, at 6:30pm and also keep an eye on ordinance changes during September meetings too. More information available at Richmond Hill & River Rescue Facebook.
Are you doing a story to explain the changes Woodfin recently made without allowing proper time for public input?
I don’t believe there is a primary for the Woodfin election; Buncombe County Election Services has only announced the general on Nov. 2, which lists all eight candidates on the ballot. (See https://www.buncombecounty.org/common/election/UOCAVA%20Election%20Notice%20110221.pdf)
We don’t have the resources to cover the blow-by-blow developments in the Bluffs development issue, but we will likely include some of that background in our reporting on the election.
