Due to tomorrow’s anticipated rain and wind, the Westside Walk for Peace originally scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, April 26th, has been moved to Monday, April 29th. On Monday, April 29th, Asheville Primary School, Vance Elementary School and Hall Fletcher Elementary School students will participate in the Westside Walk for Peace. In collaboration with the YWCA’s call on our community to take a Stand Against Racism, our elementary schoolers will recite the Stand Against Racism Pledge and sing “Peace Around the World.” The walk for peace is set to take place on the lawn of Trinity United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM. Following the event, all students will be able to define racism and commit to at least one anti-racist action. Parents, community members and the media are welcome to join us in support of our young people using their own voices.
