Collecting Local Business Workplace Welless Policies & Best Practices
As part of Buncombe County’s Community Health Improvement Process, the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Buncombe County Department of Health & Human Services would like to find out what policies local businesses have in place that support employee health.

Why? Worksite wellness activities and policies that support healthy eating, physical activity, and other healthy behaviors among employees have been shown to decrease healthcare costs for employers, decrease employee absences due to health problems, increase productivity and worker retention, and promote a positive work environment.

Results from the survey will be shared with employers and community partners to highlight exceptional examples of how employers are supporting employee health. They’ll also provide a forum for discussion for employers who want to try out new ideas.

The survey will also provide baseline data that will allow the committee to track progress in improving community health measures over time.

Take part

Buncombe County employers are invited to participate. Responses submitted by March 28, 2014 will be entered to win a free team registration to the 2014 Chamber Challenge 5K on June 6, 2014.
