Wild Abundance to offer homesteading and permaculture programs

Press release from Wild Abundance:

Natalie Bogwalker, founder and director of Wild Abundance and the Firefly Gathering, has made it her mission to share tools, skills and practices that can reconnect us with the wild in meaningful ways. Essentials of Homesteading and Permaculture , the latest offering from Wild Abundance, is an experiential program crafted to help students develop a familiarity with practices and skills that are essential for self-reliance and a harmonious relationship with nature. Adults of all ages and skill levels will meet one weekend a month starting March 19th. By the conclusion of the program students will receive a Permaculture Design Certificate, as well as a certificate for Applied Homesteading Essentials. Wild Abundance is conveniently located just 20 minutes north of Asheville.

Over the course of this nine-month facilitated experience, students will learn about wild edibles and medicinals, botany, organic gardening, food preservation, mushroom cultivation, nutrition, practical natural building, holistic forestry and animal husbandry. They will get hands on practice with primitive skills like fire by friction and practical handcrafts like natural basketry and sheath making. Engaging teachers who are experts in their fields and passionate about their specialties, will mentor students through this transformative journey.
