WNC Career Expo returns to WNC Ag Center on Oct. 11

The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and Mountain Area Workforce Development Board encourage all Western North Carolina career seekers to attend the WNC Career Expo, which will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 11 AM – 4 PM at the Davis Event Center at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, located at 761 Boylston Highway, Fletcher, 28732.

Participating employers are expected to be hiring to fill hundreds of available positions in growing industries like health care, advanced manufacturing, hospitality, and professional services.

“With thousands of jobs available with employers across Western North Carolina, the WNC Career Expo is the place to explore rewarding career opportunities,” said Nathan Ramsey, Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board. “Employers offering competitive pay, great benefits, and work options that fit various schedules are ready to hire.”

The WNC Career Expo will also offer free services to job seekers in need of career readiness or career search support. Experts from NCWorks Career Centers will be on site throughout the event offering interview preparation support and resume reviews to job seekers free of charge, with no appointment necessary.

The NCWorks Career Center’s Asheville location will also offer a Turn A Job Fair into a Job Offer career workshop prior to the WNC Career Expo on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 2 PM.

The WNC Career Expo is presented by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, with additional support from A-B Technical Community College, Bojangles, and iHeart Media.

INFORMATION FOR JOB SEEKERS
The WNC Career Expo is free and open to all job seekers with no registration required to attend. To learn more about the event and view a list of participating employers, visit WNCCareerExpo.com.

Free on-site services including one-on-one interview preparation, resume review, and resume printing will be available to all job seekers with no appointments necessary.

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
All WNC Career Expo participants and attendees – both employers and job seekers – will be asked to follow Buncombe County protocols for COVID-19 safety in effect at the time of the event.

Buncombe County recommends that individuals stay home when sick. As of September 19, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that individuals in Buncombe County take the following actions:
·         Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines

·         Get tested if you have symptoms

·         Wear a mask if you have symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19

·         Wear a mask on public transportation
