Writing Workshop at The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center, May 2-4
The Poetics of Audience: Experimenting with Points of Address in Poetry
Jaye Bartell, Eric Gelsigner, Nathanael Roney & Bridget Elmer
The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center announces a weekend workshop consisting of lectures, writing exercises, book making & panel discussions with poets & small-press publishers. The notion of audience will be considered as a preliminary element of writing, inherent to voice & form. Two days of writing workshops will focus on two different projects to accentuate the distinction between the personal & the public: single-edition books, written for & given to one person, & a collective, large-form work. Space is limited!
Call 828-350-8484 to register.
$160 / $120 for BMCM+AC members + students w/ID
This workshop is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Cynthia Homire: Vision Quest which received support from The Beattie Foundation and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
