Military family

Press release from the YMCA of Western North Carolina:

November is National Military Family Month. The YMCA of Western North Carolina is showing its appreciation to all active military members, veterans, and their immediate families with a special offer to visit any of the eight YMCA of Western North Carolina locations for free Nov. 9-12.

The military member must be over 18 with a valid photo ID and provide proof of military service. Proof of military service may include Veteran Status on your driver’s license, DD Form 214, or military ID. All participants must complete and sign a waiver.

Earlier this year, the YMCA of WNC began offering a military appreciation membership rate to active service members, veterans, and their families. There is no contract and no joining fees.

The YMCA of WNC will host a Veteran Meet and Greet on Monday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. in the lobby of the Reuter Family YMCA. Command Sergeant Major (RET) Gretchen Evans will share her personal story and information from her book “Leading from the Front.” Light refreshments will be served.
