YMI Culture Center hosts the Freedom Roads Forum

From the YMI Culture Center: 

Join Michelle Lanier, Director of the NC African American Heritage Commission for the Freedom Roads Forum, a data gathering initiative to develop a collective body of history, sites, and resources that tell the freedom-seeking saga of North Carolina. Join historians, heritage practitioners, cultural workers and the general public in discussions and fact gathering tied to the legacy of the Underground Railroad in North Carolina. The forum will be held at the YMI Cultural Center in Asheville, NC. The featured keynote presenter for this forum will be Dr. Darin Waters, Assistant Professor of History and Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Community Outreach and Engagement at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
