Youth OUTright hosts Crystal Queer Prom on June 2

Youth OUTright’s 9th annual prom will be held Saturday, June 2, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Biltmore Hotel. This year’s “Crystal Queer Prom” promises to be a stellar event, with crystal and gem-themed decorations supported by IlluminEra Studios, a catered buffet, photobooth by Vintage Nouveau Photo, music by DJ Devan, and performances by Blue Ridge Pride performers. The event invites LGBTQIA+ youth ages 14-20 to bring their preferred date and to dress in whatever way they feel comfortable with the goal of celebrating together in an open, safe, and affirming environment.

Youth OUTright is an advocacy, support, and leadership non-profit that seeks to empower LGBTQIA+ youth. The organization’s annual prom has proven to be one of the most fun and inclusive events for our community, insofar as it offers an occasion where all identities and gender expressions are celebrated without stigma or judgment.

    hmm, can’t they be INclusive and invite everyone ? why be exclusionary? …it’s not good for diversity…
