Zansa (feat. Drew Heller of Toubab Krewe) at Altamont Theatre, April 3

How Afropop can one evening get? Local band Zansa holds a first Fridays music series at the Altamont Theatre (18 Church St.) and for its Friday, April 3 installment will join forces with Drew Heller, guitarist and soku player of Toubab Krewe.

Local Asheville afropop band Zansa continues its new First Fridays music series on April 3 at Altamont Theatre. Drew Heller, of Toubab Krewe, will be joining Zansa as special guest, with an opening world beat set by DJ Minori. Zansa aims to create new music every month with different guest musicians- letting spontaneity be the catalyst for invention.

Zansa plays a mix of traditional and modern African sounds, melding frontman Adama Dembele’s rich West African musical legacy with the western influences of violin, guitar, bass, and drums.

Showtime: 8:00pm.

All ages. $10
