Storck CPA, P.C. seeks a full-time CPA to manage a diverse client base of businesses and individuals. The successful candidate will be a technically-proficient process manager and client teacher above all else. This position does not include a selling component. The candidate must have a reputation for excellent communication skills and client service, extremely high attention to detail, and exceptional standards of judgement and ethics.
-Assumes full responsibility for the timely completion of services provided to our diverse base of business and individual clients while keeping an eye out for opportunities to expand our service offerings to them.
-Must view oneself as a student and as an educator and know when each role is appropriate. -Prepares and reviews a variety of corporate, partnership, LLC and individual tax filings including complex and multi-state income tax returns, income tax extensions, and quarterly estimated tax vouchers.
-Prepares and reviews tax work papers to determine the engagement has been performed in accordance with professional standards, firm standards, and the terms of engagement letters.
-Reviews in-house and external bookkeeping on a regular basis, assists with posting journal entries, and provides constructive, positive feedback on ways to improve when necessary.
-Calculates and communicates payroll figures with clients and outsourced payroll companies to ensure timely compliance.
-Meets regularly with clients to tax plan and to confirm their accounting needs are being met.
-Prepares and reviews county business listings for business clients.
-Conducts tax research and prepares memorandums outlining findings and conclusions.
-Responds to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries and tax notices.
-Reviews in-house bookkeepers’ preparation of Forms 1099 and 1096.
-Delegates work to staff according to their experience and capabilities.
-Current CPA Certification.
-4+ years of public accounting experience with a solid compliance background in corporate, partnership, LLC and individual taxation.
-Excellent technical, research, interpersonal and communication skills.
-Strong working knowledge of online tax research tools (CCH, RIA, BNA, etc.).
-Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office, and Adobe is essential.
-Familiarity with the Thomson Reuters suite of accounting products including UltraTax, Fixed Assets and Planner is a plus. The ability to adapt to new software applications is crucial.
-Demonstrates the ability to prioritize, execute, and deliver work independently with limited supervision on a variety of simultaneous engagements within deadline constraints.
