Position status: Full Time (1 FTE, 37.5 hours/week)

Position Summary:

The Community Prevention Coordinator creates, schedules, and facilitates sexual violence prevention programs for businesses, organizations, and groups in the community. Your programs will mainly focus on DFSA-intervention and anti-sexual harassment for businesses, bystander intervention for community groups, and consent education for youth groups. You will be responsible for collecting and evaluating data from these programs then updating programs as needed.

As the Community Prevention Coordinator, you will also be expected to build and strengthen community relationships and expand our prevention efforts throughout the community. One way you will do this is by working closely with an international research team to evaluate the effectiveness of and expand the reach of our Bar Outreach Project.

You will also be encouraged, but not required to fill shifts on our 24/7 crisis hotline for survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking.

Job Responsibilities:

Respond to curriculum/program requests to assess what businesses/community partners are interested in and manage the scheduling/coordination of program logistics

Facilitate virtual and in-person trainings of various prevention programs

Update existing programs and create new prevention programs as needed

Support the implementation and facilitation of Our VOICE prevention programs for middle/high/college students, and adults

Create and present follow-up reports regarding data findings, curriculum impact, and recommendations on improving community safety to bars, restaurants, and other local businesses

Collaborate with a third-party research team to evaluate the effectiveness of the Bar Outreach Project over the next 3 years

Submit all required grant reports and other documentation in a timely manner

Create and maintain relationships with local business owners and after school programs to schedule programs on a continuous, yearly rotating basis

Required Skills:

Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating trainings

Commitment to ending sexual violence through long-term culture shifts

Commitment to relate to and work with various underserved populations in a non-judgmental manner

Commitment to anti-oppression principles in all areas of our internal and external work as well as a commitment to self-growth in this area

Ability to work both independently and as a team

Strong communication skills with the ability to speak publicly and facilitate group discussions

Flexible schedule: capacity to work some weekends and evenings

Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license


Requested Skills:

In-depth knowledge of power-based violence

Experience working with violence prevention programs, especially sexual violence and/or human trafficking

Experience building partnerships and collaborating with a diverse array of agencies and communities

Strong trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach with a commitment to social justice

Experience in cultural responsiveness and equity

Bilingual skills - English/Spanish preferred

Experience with collecting, evaluating, and presenting data

Experience with using virtual platforms and tools

Salary/Benefits:
