Helpmate Intake Specialist

Helpmate, Inc., a domestic violence agency in Asheville, NC, seeks to hire a full-time Intake Specialist. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Case Management Coordinator. Strong communication, detail orientation, organization, and time management skills are required. The Intake Specialist will provide in-person intake and hotline support to survivors of domestic violence and other abuse at the Buncombe County Family Justice Center. Duties will include communication of highly detailed information to people in crisis, database entry, and coordination of services among multiple providers. Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or 2 years’ experience in social work or related field, with preference for experience in domestic violence or related field, or a commensurate combination of work and experience.
Base rate is $18.85/hour, with additional pay incentives for up to 10 years’ relevant experience, fluency in Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, or Moldovan, resulting in a maximum range of $23.29/hour. Helpmate is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Diverse candidates encouraged to apply.
