The bee’s knees: The wildly successful Burt’s Bees, the Durham-based maker of Earth-friendly personal care products, is coming to town. On Thursday, March 31, Asheville’s Greenlife Grocery will host a “Burt’s Bees Seminar” featuring a look at the company’s history, conservation work and socially conscious products. Honor roll: The Highland Lake Inn, a 26-acre resort in Flat Rock, recently won a Reader’s Choice Award for excellence, creativity and professionalism from ConventionSouth magazine. Through the grapevine: The Asheville Wine Market is taking reservations for a special seven-night wine and culinary “Adventure to Austria” hosted by Klaus Wittauer of kwselection.com. Wittauer is a dedicated importer of Austrian wines who has worked as a sommelier in the top restaurants of his homeland of Austria, as well as in Bermuda, St. Louis and Virginia. The May 21-29 tour will cost $2,869 per person, and will include exclusive VIP tours and tastings, cellar tours and gourmet wine dinners.
